Become a Project Angel!

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE

Teens Rise Up (TRU) offers a Summer Youth Leadership Intensive that provides a unique leadership and community building experience for teens ages 14-18.

In this 5-day summer program, young adults develop leadership capacity in addition the skills and inner resources to forge relationships across the divides of race, culture, gender, sexual identity, and socio-economic differences and to bring out the best in each other, for the good of the whole community.

We reach a broad spectrum of youth including those from under-served communities, who are limited by financial resources or exposure to such educational offerings, including youth from refugee populations. This diversity creates a unique environment in which youth learn first-hand from peers with different life experiences.

In the long term, we believe that youth who attend TRU are more likely to make meaningful contributions to society and less likely to become a burden on the community. In our intensive program, we observe that youth grow in their confidence, become more curious and interact with those who are different, and step into more leadership roles.

EMPOWER A TEEN TODAY – BECOME A TRU PROJECT ANGEL!

Join our community and become part of our mission to support youth to become the next generation of leaders.

Over the past two summers, the TRU Leadership Intensive has brought together teens from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to create a powerful, one-of-a-kind experience. The first year was self-funded, and in 2016 we were fortunate enough to have support from the Collins Foundation.

Moving forward, we need angels: committed and passionate people, organizations, and business, who understand that our healthy democratic future depends on fostering the leadership potential of a diverse community of young adults.
