Play, A Secret to Art: Self Discovery and Your ChildMind

Wednesdays, September 17, 24, 9.15am-12.15pm

Instructor: Amy Mindell Ph.D.

“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up” –Picasso

The adult and childlike parts of us perceive the world in very different and contradictory ways! In this class, we’ll explore this contradiction and ways in which our “childmind” can free hidden creativity and self-discovery!

We’ll experience in art form the shift from everyday perception to the dreaming world. Using playful exercises with simple materials we’ll create spontaneous paintings and drawings, whimsical sculptures, recycled and “cubist” self portraits. Don’t be surprised if your creations become your best teachers! No art experience necessary!
